Discussion on "Read This First"

I know I shouldn't reply here, but I question the relevance of the second question: Is English Your First Language?

For obvious reasons, I suggest the replacement for "Are you able to speak proper english?", or even supressing it, since you'll probably be able to notice if the person can speak properly through the application.

If a person can speak proper english, I don't think the first language matters.

Altough it's Mabinogi NA, I suggest not being *that* ethnocentric.

Whether English is someone's first language or not, can make a difference. Little grammar flubs are understandable if it isn't; others will feel more compelled to teach someone to speak properly, and most likely, the one making the mistakes will be more willing to learn to fix them. However, if English is someone's first language and their grammar is atrocious, it gives the impression that they're simply not putting any effort into their writing.

I didn't mean to seem as though I was discriminating against anyone who isn't a native English speaker... More like the direct opposite. If English is your first language, we expect you to have a reasonable command of it from the start.

Okay, you HAVE a point, indeed.
