A Simple Sandbox AU

This is a sort of AU I don't intend to put up in the polls. It's more for when people feel like AU RPing at anytime just because. It parallels RPU Erinn save for the fact that it takes place in modern times; not to be confused with the HS AU due to the fact that it has to run on SOME sort of obvious timeline (the school year, and.. the fact that the characters should be school age). Not that people can't RP as students. >__> That's pretty much it. Something alternative for when that "because I can" sort of mood hits. It doesn't require a lot of people to enjoy, it doesn't have to disrupt other poll AUs. Only a few guidelines apply for now.

-Modern day with all the conveniences we have currently.. and it can update with our own technology.
-You can either keep your IC race or stick to the default race. Doesn't matter. It's an Alternative Universe, so decide for yourself.
-Treat powers as if they are weapons. You cannot just use them, if you do you face a penalty.
-Laws reflect real world laws.
-Each place in Erinn will have some sort of background, IE Uladh is one country/continent, Iria is a few different countries with their respective languages, Belvast will probably be sort of like Hawaii. I'll make little "country bios" later.

Will there be Milletians to make this a fuller parallel? Haven't decided yet. It's almost 3:40am for me.

Questions, comments, suggestions? Once I've answered enough and have the "country/city" bios up, it'll be ready to roll.

Where's the southern states with that southern accent, and where is the equivalent of Germany?

I imagine Germanyland to have many well-endowed women providing meat and beer, and southernland full of cows and silly hats.

This. Is. A. Cool. Idea. I've always thought "Why do we have to stick to what we've always had as our main RPing universe?" Can we not explore other options? As RPers we should learn to adapt to different situations our characters would be in. Plus honestly, the normal U can get pretty annoying/boring at times.

Question: What about the races that aren't human/elf/giant? Would they be widely accepted or something to hide?

That really depends on what is representing what. Some places have A LARGE amount of racism that's national. Others, Like the U.S.A, have general hate towards all groups coming from a minority of the nation. I guess some nations would accept all (Though all the people wouldn't) and other nations would not accept all.

It'll be in the bios for the towns. It's a lot like what I did for the world in the TF!AU. Just know since it's modern times, racism would be quite frowned upon in most places. Sort of swept under the rug..

Mm'kay. What about inter-continental travel? Would we have planes or Goddess Wings?

THAT is a good question.. Hm. I don't want planes cause I want to keep a bit of the fantasy aspect. Airships in the RPG sense would be more fitting. Or really nice sea cruisers. Or both \o/

I think that's all I have to ask...for now.

Planes? PFFT, We -have- Hot-air Balloons and Ships already. An idea would be to have some Dragon-rental spot in some cities, since Dragons are the fastest "mount" we have. Tamed Dragons of course. Dragons would fly to specific spots. Kinda like Tera's Pegasus system, for those familiar with Tera.

I said planes because this was supposed to be more modern. Not many travel long-distances via hot air balloon anymore, last I checked.

I got on the other day and floated down the Cor River...in a hot Air Balloon....because boredom.

Right, more modernized would assume planes of some sort. I -like- my Dragon Travel idea.

I can't really guarantee how invested I'll be in this, I find normal U RP more riveting. But I'm not opposed to giving it a try. Yeah, airships sound a bit too far; but not mounts either. I'd say airships were, indeed, a pretty safe call.

Will inter-character relationships exist already? Or will this be a blank slate for everyone. I'd honestly prefer the latter.

I can work with either, but I'd prefer the latter as well. To be honest, I'd like to see things develop organically and honestly without any form of bias of previous RP's or favorite friends, families, pairs, etc. Given that this AU has no determined timeframe, things can be taken at an easier, more realistic pace.

I agree with Vayne and Ani. Clean Slate sounds fun anyway.

I'm probably going to join because I feel like regular RPs won't even happen anymore.

So similar or no powers, or what? I like blank slates with inter-relationships. But given my online time is slim to none because Nexon is a piece of -shot-.

So yea, just question about abilities, powers, etc etc.
