Phantasy Star Online 2
Not sure how many people are fans of Phantasy Star Online, but PSO2 is in japanese release as free to play and quite a few of my guildmates from Tera are interested in it and were able to direct me to a site that tells you how to register and play the game. It is free to play, requiring just a simple registration and download. The game is in official release. The site used is a blog, but nicely tells you the process of how to register despite everything being in japanese.

I was a huge PSU fan for Xbox, so I'm looking forward to this game.

I played and there is an English patch. However, like Nexon NA, they ban foreign players.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to NA! It's an amazing MMO that's free to play~ I'll definitely be hopping on the servers to play. I love the world, and I'll be attempting to start a roleplaying guild on it. Let me know if you guys want to join me~ The release date is juggling around January.

I've been playing there since CB2 and I haven't been banned.Xenny wrote:I played and there is an English patch. However, like Nexon NA, they ban foreign players.
As long as you're not hacking, aren't making a complete idiot of yourself and play legit, you should be fine.

OTL Then I think it's because I was with a friend who couldn't figure out not to speak English in public

The patch says what not to do...and certain things are actually translated when said, and other players, the japanese ones, can see the english and you would get banned.
But this will be a game I will certainly be downloading....and possibly redownloading the CB version as well.

Yeah, that might've been the problem. I only speak in the public channel when someone introduces themselves or congradulates in Japanese, or I'm in a Team/English majority-only multi-party area.Xenny wrote:OTL Then I think it's because I was with a friend who couldn't figure out not to speak English in public
Ship 02 is mainly where the English speaking players go.
Staying away from B-1 also helps; majority there HATE international players (e.g.: one of my Canadian friends got hammered with "Go back to America" in the off-chance he accidentally landed there). I personally stay away from B-20/21; while there are some nice PSOWorlders that slip through the cracks, the rest're just... ugh, no words.

I'm just going to wait for the game to release in NA OTL
I'm at home with crappy wifi so by the time I redownload it all, I'd probably be heading back up to uni... Which will be around the time the game releases in NA.

Japan's PSO2 was Free to play, I imagine this one will be too. They had ways to earn actual money from the game itself. OVerall it's fun. I'll definately be playing this a bunch.
