Personality:
Carla: Energetic and happy once comfortable with someone, but is often shy towards strangers. Doesn’t do well with crowds. Somewhat clingy towards those she considers friends. Speaks with a thick German accent.
Leona: Somewhat surly and bitter, though she will show kindness towards those who show it to her. Has a certain confidence that Carla lacks. Has a particular hatred for Diedrich. Lacks Carla’s German accent.

Bio:
Before coming to Erinn, Carla lived with her family in Germany. Being the younger of two siblings by a significant number of years, her older brother Diedrich was often the one to take care of her before he started leaving the family home often for his modeling career, leading to a very strong bond between the two of them. She often grew lonely when Diedrich was away, leading her to develop an imaginary friend of sorts: Leona. Because she was young, having an imaginary friend didn’t seem at all unusual to those around her; in fact, it was rather cute.

When Carla was 10 years old she died in a house fire; she had become trapped in her room and was too frightened to find her way out. Diedrich tried to save her, but was unable to get her out of the house; Carla died in Diedrich’s arms shortly before he himself succumbed to flames.

After arriving in Erinn, Carla found herself alone, having become separated from Diedrich despite having died almost at the same time. Lost, alone, and afraid, she turned to the only ‘friend’ she had left: Leona. Starting out as just an imaginary friend, Carla’s loneliness and increasing dependence on Leona for company and support has caused her to become an actual part of Carla’s psyche over time, developing into a sort of “older sister” figure who is now very much real and lives alongside Carla in her body. Leona has grown to heavily resent Diedrich for leaving Carla alone, believing he purposefully abandoned his little sister, though Carla herself still believes that Diedrich cares about her.

Carla and Leona coexist rather easily, as each makes up for qualities that the other seems to lack. Leona has a confidence and strength that Carla desperately needs, and Carla serves as a gentler voice of reason for the somewhat stubborn and short-tempered Leona. Very rarely do the two fight for control, usually only when they disagree on something. It can easily be determined who is speaking from Carla’s thick German accent, and Leona’s lack thereof, but it can become hard to follow if the two are arguing out loud. The two share their memories, unless one is “sleeping” while the other is in control, but they cannot feel the emotions associated with the other’s memories
