Bio: Capreolus is a tuathan who was born with total hearing loss, and dyslalia, which is a condition where there is a structural defect in the vocal cords that renders the user unable to speak. This was a bit of a shock to his parents, neither of which had existing deafness or muteness. The lived happily, and learned how to sign with him so they could still communicate as their son grew. His mother became ill when he was still young, and unfortunately succumbed to disease and died. His father was stricken with grief, and each day without his wife was a struggle for him as he cared for his young son. One day some years later, Capreolus's father told him that he was going out into the desert for a little while, and asked him to stay in the house. Capreolus waited patiently, but after a few hours, he wandered outside and could not find his father nearby. After a day alone, the little elf went outside and tried to find some help.

Capreolus's father never came home, and the locals could not communicate with Capreolus, and could only guess at what he wanted or needed, and his care was difficult. With nobody fluent in his only native tongue so to speak, he grew lonely and felt isolated. Capreolus went out into the desert one day to look for his father and became tired before long, falling asleep among some goods in the back of a merchant's wagon. Being small and unable to speak or hear makes it difficult to get around, and Capreolus quickly found himself completely lost when he woke again, only able to wait until the wagon stopped before he could get down and step away.

It is only the second day of his journey, and it’s already looking rather grim. How is he going to find anything when he can't hear, speak, read, or find anyone who can sign back to him?
