How You Heard About The RP Society: I asked about a roleplaying guild on the Mabinogi forums, and was directed to Google you folks.

How Long Have You Been Roleplaying? For the past 7 years. Longer, but I was such a newbie to RPing before 7 years ago that I don't count that time as meaningful roleplaying, merely learning the ropes.

A Short Biography Of Your Character: Issan, the oldest child of a prominent family of swordsman, is destined for great things. Or at least, that's what his parents hope. As the eldest of 10 children, there is a lot riding on this Hotaru's shoulders. The responsibility of being the heir, of needing to provide heirs to carry on his family name. To inherit the ancient techniques and skills of his forefathers and pass them on to his sons as well. But it was not meant to be. They say, "Power corrupts. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely." This, is what happened to the eldest Hotaru. Tempted by darkness and strength beyond measure, he abandoned his heart. He awakened, with no memory of himself, or what happened to him. "Am I...dreaming? Is this...death?" Only that the calm and detached young man found himself alone in a wide, white space, and saw the girl Nao. With no other options before him, and his past a blank slate, he casually accepted her offer of a new life. Perhaps in this new existence, in this new life, he might find his answers...though whether he wants to find them is another story entirely.

What type of character do you play? Swordsman, definitely, not really a tank though. As a new player to Mabinogi, I need to learn more before I completely dedicate myself though.

What is your Mabinogi schedule? Weekdays - 2pm PST to about 6-8pm PST is my time range. Weekends are Random.

Thank you very much. Unfortuntely, I foolishly made a character already on the inappropriate server, and thus I have to wait until 7am tomorrow for him to be gone so that I can remake him. So I'll be without a character until such time.

I had an interesting idea, wherein reach Rebirth causes memories of what happened to Issen to be restored to him. Of course simply rebirthing himself over and over won't have any effect, it'll take certain milestones, like completion of G1-9 storylines for him to uncap new recesses of his lost memories. At some point of course, his full memory would be restored, but that's part of the character development. How it affects him as a person is part of the RPing fun!

I don't know if you knew, because I certainly didn't whenever I made my first character, but you can use the premium faces / features with your first free character card. So just keep that in mind if you had a specific look you want.

How will I know what the premium faces/features are? Is there some indicator?

Well, putting it plainly, you can use all of the faces / facial features / hair styles to create your own ideal look. They're divided into two categories: basic and premium. Premium styles have a star on top of the icon. In the past you used to have pay for them, but they've changed it so that the free card you receive can use the premium features as well.

I see, so the first character made using the free card (which I'll have to remake) will get to use any of those looks. That's good to know, I wondered what the star meant.

Do you guys still use the IRC room I saw advertised on the Portal?

Yes . We do. It's mostly used during the day. At night time everyone is on Mabi.

EDIT: Actually, no, we don't. I misread that. We use the chat box on the forum index. The IRC, I believe, is no longer used.

If you don't want to wait you could just create a second Nexon account and start fresh.
As long is you don't do to much fast switching between accounts they wont mistake you for a Bot.

So just one more positive review and a Guild Stone to deal with.

While you are waiting you can always look over the forum and have a chuckle or maybe even learn something new.

Thanks for the advice, but I can wait. I'm a patient guy really. This'll give me some time to go over my character and how I wish to develop him. Ironically, Issen usually isn't my default character archetype either. Usually I play a character under a different name, who I won't give away because it IS relevant to Issen's backstory.

First of all I like the history of the char before Erinn. That alone makes me push my accept button. On another note I had no idea that you could customize a char so freely with the free card. But anyhoo yes I approve of this application! *throws pokeball!* Captincrunch I choose You! xD Yea dork I know.

I was worried I was too vague about Issen's backstory, but given that it's the focus of his journey through Mabinogi, I wanted there to be room for him to discover himself, and get the help of his friends along the way. Oh, and in advance, he's not the nicest guy in the world. Not a complete jackass, but definitely not your best friend...at least right away. So I apologize in advance if he inadvertently pushes anyone's buttons.

No worries about that. There are plenty of characters that rp in and out of RPS that aren't exactly 'nice.' Matter of fact I made an alt recently that pretty much shredded that book and burned the scraps. We all know that just because a char is on the evil side of things doesn't mean the player is jerk too.

Not too worry, there is an ample supply of button pushers and a few without any buttons at all ....

Hopefully I see you in action eventually, but as it's looking in my personal life that won't happen for a bit.
